Meet the team

As a dedicated funeral director Louise brings over 20 years experience to the community providing compassionate and personalised care to families.

Beyond professional duties,  Louise is a keen rower and rows Celtic Longboats and gigs in the Chichester Harbour and has just started to learn to scull.

Darren Miles is one of our founders and has been involved in the funeral profession from a young age, following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a funeral director. With years of experience and a strong sense of tradition, Darren is passionate about providing compassionate, personalised care to every family he supports.

A true family man at heart, Darren values time with his loved ones and is deeply rooted in his local community. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling and regularly takes part in fundraising events to support charities close to his heart.

Alan is a Funeral Director with many years of experience in funeral care. You may speak with Alan on the telephone during your first call to us, where his warm and professional manner immediately puts people at ease.
Outside of work, Alan is a passionate sea angler. A former contributor to a national angling magazine, he now blogs about his fishing experiences and works with sponsors in the angling world. Most weeks, you’ll find him on a local beach, rod in hand—enjoying the quiet focus of the sport, which reflects the thoughtful care he brings to his role.

John began his career in Glasgow, where he proudly became the city’s youngest funeral director at the time. With decades of experience and a deep understanding of funeral care, he brings both professionalism and compassion to every family he supports.

John moved to Bognor Regis for the love of a southern girl, and he’s been part of the local community ever since. In his spare time, he enjoys nothing more than a round of golf with his pals, where his good humour and Scottish charm are never far behind.

Becky is our Funeral Coordinator and has worked in the funeral profession since 1995, joining Oaklands in 2014.

One of the first friendly faces you will see when you walk through our doors, Becky keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

With her compassionate nature and genuine care for others, she wears her heart on her sleeve and is a wonderful ambassador for the values Oaklands stands for.

Becky’s passion for growing plants is matched only by the joy she finds with her grandchildren, Beau and Bonnie.

Morgan manages our social media and has been working part-time in the funeral profession for the past five years. With a natural eye for detail and a warm, approachable style, she helps share the heart of what we do at Oaklands with the wider community.

She also works at Goodwood and brings the same positive energy wherever she goes. Outside of work, Morgan is a keen tennis player, proudly representing Chichester Racquets and Fitness Club in both the ladies’ doubles league and the mixed doubles team for the past four years.
